From Plantation to Packaged Henna
Henna Manufacturing Process
Leaves of henna plant are plucked from natural surrounding or farms/fields. This is done manually by skilled labour expert in plucking the best Henna leaves. Sometimes the manufacturers give the function of plucking or collecting to collectors on a contractual basis.

The collected herbs & leaves are then sorted out on the base of their quality and the ones without any diseases or defect are selected for further processing. We then choose the best henna leaves directly from Rajasthan & get all processing work done ourselves.

The leaves are dried and finally grinded in semi and fully automated machines.

Finally the grinded and mixed finished henna powder is carefully packed and sealed. Sometimes double packing is done for extra freshness. Packages of different quantities are made by using automatic weighing machine. Henna has different kind of packages depending on the requirements of buyers, henna suppliers & required henna supplies

How Henna Works
The Coloring Process
The active constituent ‘Lawson’ that occurs naturally in the leaves of the Henna Plant is preserved naturally within the dried henna powder.

The dye begins to work when the Henna Powder is activated by a catalyst, the key component being hot water. Other elements have been found to improve ‘hot water’ as a catalyst, such as tea, sugar, lemon juice, certain natural oils etc.

Once the Henna Paste comes into contact with your skin the dye starts to work and begins to stain the skin. The Henna Paste needs to stay on the skin for 2 hours to make sure the skin takes on a good color. After 2 hours you can remove the Henna paste by brushing it off, you will see an orange colored design. Do not wash it or get it wet at this stage. Don’t worry..color will dark slowly.

The Developing Process

  • The Color of your Henna Tattoo will begin to darken immediately.
  • It will slowly but surely darken over the next 12 – 48 hours.
  • Your skin type dictates the specific development time, some people’s Henna Tattoos reach their best color in the first 12 hours, whilst others can take up to 2 days.
The Final Color
  • After 48 hours you will not see any further color darkening, your Henna Tattoo has reached its optimum color.
  • The exact shade of your Henna Tattoo is dependent upon your skin type & condition and your initial aftercare. The usual color is within a ‘Burgundy/Brown’ color range.
  • If you have ‘peeling’ skin from sunburn, or any areas of ‘flaky’ dry skin, then do not apply Henna Tattoos to those areas, as the color will appear to peel away or flake off when your skin does.
  • When you first remove your Henna Tattoo products and during the color development time you need to be gentle with your skin. Avoid scrubbing, or rubbing it, only use mild soap and warm water when bathing/showering, pat the area dry etc.
  • It is extremely important to keep your Henna Tattoo dry during the first 12 hours of color development. If it gets wet during this time it completely stops the color development or enhancement.
The Fading Process
  • Henna Tattoos products contain a natural permanent dye. The Henna Tattoo only fades away because the body naturally regenerates its epidermis (the upper layer of skin) where the Henna Tattoo has been applied.
  • So, as your body sheds its skin naturally, your Henna Tattoo will begin to gradually fade away, until it has completely disappeared.
  • On average a Henna Tattoo generally lasts between 10-15 days, it can sometimes take a further 7 days to completely disappear.
  • The specific fading timescale for a Henna Tattoo is dependent upon the area of your body where it was applied, as well as your lifestyle at the time.
  • As a general rule, Henna Tattoos on the face and neck fade away within 1 week because the epidermis is thinner, continuously exposed to the elements and washed and dried more frequently than other areas of the body. Whereas Henna Tattoos on the arms tend to last for around 2 weeks, because the epidermis is thicker, and more protected from the elements etc…
  • Your lifestyle also effects the fading time of your Henna Tattoo. If you are in and out of swimming pools, saunas & hot tubs etc. You will encourage your body to regenerate its skin at an accelerated rate, hence shortening the life span of your Henna Tattoo.
Please Note
  • Henna Tattoo products only produce Temporary stains on skin, because human skin wears off a little bit at a time everyday.
  • Be very careful when you are working with Henna products as they can also permanently stain everything else that Henna  make contact with, e.g. clothing, curtains, carpets, soft furnishings etc.

AFTERCARE OF HENNA TATTOO
After having a natural & beautiful Henna Tattoo, it’s very essential to look after it well in order to get the best outcome. Your Henna Tattoo will be part of your skin for the next few days or weeks, so treat it gently and your tattoo will look awesome and will last long as it possibly can.

How to make your Henna Tattoo last as long as possible?
You can make your Henna tattoo darker & last long by doing some little things-
  • Don’t pick your henna paste off early, give it proper time.
  •
  • Do not get it wet during the first 12 hours or it will stop its color development… and stay orange.
  • Avoid contact with bleaching chemicals or elements such as household cleaning fluids, and chlorinated water in swimming pools.
  • Avoid saunas and steam rooms and these actively encourage your skins natural regeneration cycle
  • Avoid contact with abrasives such as exfoliating products etc
  • When showering/bathing do not scrub your skin, just wash it gently with mild soap.
  • After showering / bathing do not rub your skin dry, pat it gently with a towel instead.
How to Remove Henna
In spite of no hard and fast rule, following are the tips that can prove to be helpful while removing henna.

1. Take out the henna paste immediately:
Removing the henna quickly after application, using water, will prevent the henna dye from sinking below the most external layers of skin.

Take a shower:
A nice soak in hot water will cause the skin to exfoliate; thus, the layers of skin which have absorbed the henna design will flake off sooner if it is soaked in water. Many artists suggest that soaking in a hot tub - the chlorine in the tub will definitely help to take the henna right off.

3. Wash your hands:
Stronger soaps, like a soak in the hot tub, cause skin to exfoliate to a greater degree. To get rid of henna sooner, choose the antibacterial soap instead of regular glycerin.

4. Wait patiently:
There is no hard and fast way to remove henna from the skin immediately. Some artists recommend soaks in mild, dilute bleaches. In general, scrubbing too hard and soaking in the bath for too long may just give red, prune-shaped fingertips. So….rather than cribbing over it better enjoy the henna color.
